Dear Community
I am currently using VDP to back up my vCenter server (VM running Server 2008 R2). The vCenter DB is located on the same VM using SQL Express. The vCenter DB is backed up using the VDP agent.
I was reading the following blog on how to perform emergency recovery of my vCenter server
http://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2015/03/protecting-vcenter-with-vdp-60.html
Performing an emergency recovery seems quite straight forward, however what about the vCenter DB.
Since the emergency recovery process seems to take the file level backup of my vCenter server, I would expect my SQL Express DB to possibly be in a corrupt or unrecoverable state.
How would I be able to restore that DB using "regular VDP restore" if my vCenter is still not running because of a corrupt DB? Assuming the DB would not be recoverable using file level emergency recovery.
