I was having problems with a VDP appliance after performing and upgrade. Essentially, the appliance had several snapshots that would not delete, this was preventing performing an update to the appliance and I just didn't like having snapshot and REDO disks for my VDP. How they got there I don't know. Anyway I performed a clone of the appliance and shutdown the original. This fixed the snapshot problem but the clone will not start up properly. First it would not configure eth0, I found an article about deleting the cached MAC information in the clone and that allowed proper network connectivity. No the VDP Appliance will start up although VERY slowly it takes 4+ hrs to get to the console screen, but I can not access the /vdp-configure web GUI.
I think there is a problem with the services starting.
1. How do I check and start the services from the console?
2. Other troubleshooting ideas? Create a new clone from the original and try again?
3. In the admin manual it suggests making a clone as a backup in case of a failed upgrade. What is the procedure should you need to use that clone? Did I do something wrong?
Thank you for your help
