We are looking to implement a VM specific backup tool ( TSM for VE) and am looking for some advice on restores.
We have a team that are responsilble for file restores that are not server admins. We need to give them rights to restore files to original locations on VMs and had hoped to use the backup operators group.
Our testing has indentified that backup operators members must work in conjucntion with a traditional backup client api to enable the restore of files to original locations.
Virtual backups do not have local clients and therefore do not allow this interaction, denying the right to restore a file.
Has anyone else found this issue? If so how did you get around it with out elevating rights or updating countless ACLs?
