'The most recent request has been rejected by the server' when connecting to VDP appliance

I get this error message:

The most recent request has been rejected by the server

when I attempt to connect to VDP. I found this:

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2040078

and tried running the command:

ntpq -d IP Address

but no offset values were presented, instead I was at the ntpq> prompt where I am clueless.

HELP me. How do I get my VDP back on track!
